 Bowness
and Windermere are situated right in the heart of the English
Lake District on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere. The
town features a wealth of visitor attractions for all ages
and offers easy access to the rest of the Lakeland towns such
as Ambleside, Grasmere
and Coniston.
The lakeshore
in Bowness is a particular favourite with families providing
clean family friendly shingle beaches and surrounded by parks,
located just a short way from the towns many and varied local
shops. Visitors can take a leisurely boat trip around the
lake from the Bowness pier or take the car ferry across the
lake to visit Hawkshead
and Sawrey on the other side.
